You will recall that Senate GOJE is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation told his colleagues yesterday that the police took away the 2017 Budget documents during the raid; an allegation which the Force Public Relations Officer, JIMOH MOSHOOD has since denied.
However; the Senior Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator ITA ENANG, disclosed in a statement that the Presidency has reached out to both sides to resolve the issue.
Senator ENANG also disclosed that all items that the police took from Senator GOJE’s house during the raid last week have been returned to the lawmaker.
Our correspondent gathered that with the resolution of the conflict between Senator GOJE and the Police High Command, the 2017 Budget should be ready for passage by the Senate next week.
Earlier; the Force Public Relations Officer, JIMOH MOSHOOD, said a review of all thirty-eight files taken away during the search of GOJE’s home in Abuja as well as the computer laptop that was also confiscated by the police shows no link to the 2017 Budget, .
MOSHOOD said in addition to the files and laptop, the police team recovered various sums of money in local and foreign currencies from Senator GOJE’s home.
