INEC Chairman, Professor YAKUBU MAHMUD, led the Abuja version of the exercise, which took place in Karu.
Professor MAHMUD said the exercise provides opportunity for eligible voters that are yet to register to do so before the general election in 2019.
After the zonal flag-off, Professor MAHMUD said the registration would be taken down to the ward level to ensure wider coverage.
It is also expected that the voter registration would continue until close to the 2019 general election.
