The Nigerian Senate has successfully passed the remaining two key tax reform bills—the Joint Revenue Board Establishment Bill 2025 and the Nigeria Tax Bill 2025—after detailed clause-by-clause review during the Committee of the Whole and subsequent third reading on the Senate floor.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced that he also constituted a conference committee to ensure the harmonization of the process. He emphasized that this development represents a historic milestone, as Nigeria will now have a set of modernized tax laws for the first time in the country’s history.
