All 18 passengers abducted from a Benue Links bus on April 15, 2026, have been rescued following a coordinated security operation.
The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, Ifeanyi Emenari, confirmed the development while presenting 15 of the rescued victims to Governor Hyacinth Alia at the Government House in Makurdi.
Authorities say the victims are in stable condition, while efforts continue to apprehend those responsible for the abduction. The successful rescue has been described as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity in the state.
