The lawmakers took the decision shortly after the auditor general of Rivers state submitted the financial statements and accounts of the fiscal year 2021.

On his part, the Deputy leader, Bariye Deeya stated that the report was not detailed enough on the environmental impact assessment.
In his ruling, the speaker of the House, Ikuiyi Ibani referred the report back to the House Committee on environment to do a more comprehensive job.
