The worst portions of the road are around Eleme and Akpajo junction, which have become a nightmare especially for the petrol tanker drivers.
In view of the situation, the leadership of the Petrol Tanker Drivers unit of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers, NUPENG has issued an ultimatum for the government to fix the bad road.
The Chairman of the PTD unit of NUPENG in Port Harcourt, LUCKY ETUOKU said failure by government to fix the road would be greeted with an industrial action by his members.
ETUOKU who spoke during a telephone interview with our correspondent, said petrol tanker drivers would have to withdraw their services by this weekend if the relevant government agencies failed to mobilize equipment to site to repair the road.
Our correspondent reports that the latest strike threat is the third to be issued by the Petrol Tanker Drivers in Port Harcourt over the bad state of the Eleme axis of the East-East Road, leading to the refinery and seaport.
