Rivers Women are unsung heroines in business says Harry-Banigo

Dr. Harry-Banigo stated this while playing host to the New Leadership of NAWORG in the State, which is the female wing of the Nigeria   Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

 

 

 

The Deputy Governor in a statement by the Head of media, Owupele Benebo said the call to induct more women into NAWORG became necessary in view of the fact that a lot of women in the rural areas of the State are involved in very robust business activities and are contributing to the socio economic and political development of their communities as unsung heroines.

 

 

According to Dr. Harry-Banigo bringing the women on board the NAWORG Platform would afford them the opportunity to form cooperatives, access loan facilities in order to expand their businesses, noting that the Governor Nyesom Wike-led Administration has created the enabling environment for the growth of businesses in the State.

 

 

 

In her remarks the Coordinator of NAWORG in the State, oriaku hanson oyet-ile who expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor for her support to NAWORG, Rivers State since its inauguration in 2017, said the NACCIMA Business Women Group is one of the Trade Groups of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture.

 

 

 

She noted that her organization is being supported and accommodated by the Port Harcourt City Chambers, PHACCIMA and will encourage men to participate in commerce and governance, sensitizes and creates awareness among local business women within the chamber movement and other women business groups in the State.
