The Commissioner for Environment, Professor ROSELINE KONYA wants to know how the would-be small scale refiner would get their crude oil supplies.
Speaking at a National Conference on Oil Theft and Illegal Bunkering in Nigeria, organized by the Social Development Integrated Center in Port Harcourt, Professor KONYA hinted that the method through which the illegal refiners obtain crude oil is harmful for human.
The Environment Commissioner made a case for proper synergy between the federal and state governments to put in place modalities for the supply of crude for the artisanal refiners.
She also explained that the Rivers State Governments was committed to ensuring that the spread of black soot in the state is brought to an end.
Our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA reports that the task force on the black soot has fixed a meeting with the Nigerian Navy in continuation of ongoing consultations to stop the pollution.
