Rivers Rewards 10 NYSC Presidential Honours Awardees with ₦20 Million

The Rivers State Government has rewarded 10 indigenes who received the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Presidential Honours Award with a total cash gift of ₦20 million.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dagogo Wokoma, announced the reward in Port Harcourt while congratulating the recipients for bringing honour and pride to Rivers State through their outstanding service during the NYSC programme.

The governor described the awardees as worthy ambassadors of the state and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to human capital development and the promotion of excellence across all sectors.

In a statement issued by the Head of Information and Public Relations Unit, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Juliana Masi, Governor Fubara commended the recipients for their dedication, discipline and selfless contributions to national development. He assured that the state government would continue to recognise and reward exceptional achievements by its youths.

The Rivers State Coordinator of the NYSC, Moses Oleghe, expressed appreciation to the governor for the gesture, describing it as a strong demonstration of support for youth development. He also reaffirmed the scheme’s commitment to partnering with the state to nurture graduates who will contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Gideon Nwaokugha thanked the state government for the recognition and support, pledging that the awardees would continue to uphold the values of excellence and serve as worthy ambassadors of Rivers State.

The beneficiaries are Nwile Promise, Nwakoo Bariagara, Chika Michelle, Samyaaloh Lekia, Chuku Diana, Okulu Sarah, Nwaubochi Godswill, Wori Precious, Paola Bob-Yellowe and Gideon Nwaokugha.
