This was confirmed by the President of the Primary Healthcare Workers Association of Nigeria, DANIEL ATIEME who said they have not been paid for July and August.
ATIEME told our correspondent in an interview that local government workers in the state have no clue why their salaries are being delayed.
Also corroborating the development, the Eleme Local Government chapter chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees, MIMI GOSPEL said the reasons for the delayed salaries have not been made known to them.
An investigation by our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA indicates that the delay may not be unconnected with the issue of transfer of salaries of local government healthcare workers from the Local Government Service Commission to the Primary Healthcare Management Board.
