The Rivers State Government has explained the reasons behind the piles of refuse that littered major roads in the past months.
Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibibia Worika, admitted that the state had been grappling with several challenges in waste management. He, however, disclosed that the government has procured trucks and other equipment to tackle the issue.
Professor Worika also noted that the Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas, has made significant investments in environmental sanitation.
He urged residents to support the government’s efforts by joining the campaign to keep the state clean and healthy.
