Okuru-Ama people are therefore calling for the assistance of government authorities and security agencies to protect them against their neighbours from Okujagu community.

The Chairman of the Community Development Committee, INICHINBIA BENSON told newsmen in Port Harcourt that gunmen suspected to have come from Okujagu invaded Okuru-Ama, firing gunshots indiscriminately.

INICHINBIA BENSON said Okuru-Ama does not share boundary with Okujagu, adding that the motive for the alleged attack remains unclear.

Our correspondent reports that the latest invasion of Okuru-Ama community is the second of such incident in recent times.

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the attack on Okuru-Ama community. 

The Commissioner of Police, FRANCIS ODESANYA said some persons have been arrested in connection with the attack.

C.P ODESANYA also said security has been reinforced in Okuru-Ama community to avert further attacks.
