The lawmaker representing Port Harcourt Constituency One, VICTORIA NYECHE said the present shortfall in Federal Allocation was not enough reason to repeal the law that encouraged the State Government to save for the future.
NYECHE said the state government could have decided to reduce the monthly savings from one billion naira that was adopted under the immediate-past administration.
For his part, the member representing Ikwerre State Constituency, AZUBUIKE WANJOKU said majority of the lawmakers supported the repeal of the Reserve Fund Law to pave way for sharp practices.
You will recall that the Rivers State Reserve Fund Law was enacted in 2008 when the current Minister of Transportation, ROTIMI AMACHI was in office as Governor of Rivers State.
