The Speaker of the House, YAKUBU DOGARA gave this indication in a message to the opening on an investigative hearing by the House Ad-Hoc Committee on the Digital Switchover of Broadcasting in Nigeria.
DOGARA, who was represented by the Chief Whip ALHASSAN ADO DOGUWA, observed that the switchover process has so far been marred by alleged procedural irregularities and inconsistencies.
He equally claimed that there were cases of alleged misappropriation of funds generated to facilitate the digital switchover, which needs to be thoroughly investigated by the Committee.
The lawmaker maintained that the impact of technological innovation on national development was massive; assuring that the National Assembly would use legislative tools to ensure the success of the digital switchover.
