President Tinubu Announces Nigeria Has Met Revenue Targets and Is Not Borrowing Locally

President Bola Tinubu has announced that Nigeria has achieved its revenue target for the year and is not engaging in any new local borrowing. The President made this declaration during a reception held for members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), led by former Nasarawa State governor, Tanko Al-Makura.

In his address, Tinubu credited the positive fiscal developments to increased non-oil revenue and the ongoing reforms implemented by his administration since taking office in May 2023. He emphasized that the government’s fiscal discipline and policy measures have contributed significantly to stabilizing the economy.

The President’s remarks come as Nigeria continues efforts to diversify its revenue sources and strengthen fiscal management amid challenging economic circumstances.
