President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has been reaching out to the leadership of the two chambers of the National Assembly in what is believed to be a deliberate strategy to ensure a smooth running of the Federal Government.
President BUHARI held a meeting yesterday with the Senate President BUKOLA SARAKI, and the House of Representatives’ Speaker, YAKUBU DOGARA. The meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja also had in attendance selected federal lawmakers, but details of what was discussed have not been revealed
Other lawmakers in attendance include Senator ALI NDUME who is the Deputy Majority Leader, and Senator GODSWILL AKPABIO who is the Senate Minority Leader, as well as House Leader, FEMI GBAJABIAMILA. The move comes days after the formal unveiling of the first set of nominees for appointment as ministers to serve in the Federal cabinet. It is believed that the screening of the ministerial nominees was among issued discussed at the late night meeting at the Villa.
