President Buhari forwarded the names of the nominees to the Senate seeking confirmation of their appointments in accordance with section One-seven-one of the 1999 constitution.
The Nigerian Senate also received President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for the confirmation of Professor Jumai Audi, as the Chairman of the Nigerian Law Reform Commission, NLRC.
Other nominees include; Bernard Chima, Commissioner for South East; Bassey Dan Abia Commissioner for South-South; and Mohammed Ibraheem Commissioner for South-West.
President Buhari in his request to the Senate said it was in compliance with the provision of section two of the NLRC in Law Reform Commission Act Number Seven.
The Senate also received a request from the President for the confirmation of Diana Okonta to represent South-South; and Ya’ana Talib Yaro to represent North-East as Non-Executive Directors of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC.
The President said the appointment was done in compliance with the provision of section Five of the NDIC Act.
