The trial Judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli in his judgment ruled that the second year Student of the Department of Physics in the University of Port Harcourt, Dike should be hanged by his neck while Ugochukwu Nwamiro be hanged by his legs.
Our correspondent Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that the judge also sentenced Sergeant Johnbosco Okoronze who was found guilty of aiding and assisting the escape of Ifeanyi Dike from police custody to one year imprison.
Justice Adolphus Enebeli premised his judgment against the second defendant, Nwamiro on the voluntary confessional statement made by the first defendant Ifeanyi Dike who in his statement maintained that he was asked to bring the sensitive organs of the late Chikamso for financial gains.
Our correspondent reports the pronouncement by the Judge caused the relatives of the accused to break out in uncontrollable tears.
Speaking to newsmen out the courtroom, the state Prosecution Counsel, Chidi Eke described the judgment as landmark.
On his part, counsel to the Ugochukwu Nwamiro, John Ndah expressed displeasure over the judgment and promised to appeal against it.
Also speaking Lezina Amegwa who is Counsel to Ifeanyichukwu Maxwell-Dike said he may not appeal the matter because of the circumstances in the judgment.
You will recall that Victory Chikamso was murdered on the 18th of August, 2017 by the now convicted Ifeanyi Dike who was first apprehended by a local Vigilante in Eliozu community in Obio-Akpor Local Government and handed over to the Nigerian Police.
Dike later escaped from police custody through the help of one Sergeant Johnbosco and was rearrested in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
