The administrator of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Dr. Samuel Kalagbor, has urged residents and business owners to collaborate with him and security agencies in efforts to maintain law and order in the area. This call came during a strategic meeting with the Commissioner of Police, security chiefs, traditional and youth leaders, and other key stakeholders.
Dr. Kalagbor emphasized that government alone cannot effectively address the challenges of insecurity and other threats facing the community. He called for a united front, reminding attendees of the collective responsibility in safeguarding the local environment.
During the meeting, Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, reinforced the importance of collaboration, urging stakeholders to support the council authority in protecting critical government assets within Port Harcourt City. He underscored that the focus of the sole administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas, is primarily on welfare and security.
Additionally, Eze Arthur Kalagbor, a traditional ruler in the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, noted that incidents of destruction of government assets are infrequent in the LGA. However, he advised security agencies to maintain vigilant oversight, particularly of flyover structures in the state.
The meeting highlighted a strong commitment from local leadership and law enforcement to ensure a secure and supportive environment for all residents.
