The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Charles Wobodo, has signed into law the Ikwerre Local Government Amendment Revenue By-laws, 2026.
Speaking after signing the legislation, Wobodo commended the 10th Ikwerre Legislative Assembly for the swift passage of the amended by-laws.
He said the new law would strengthen the council’s capacity to generate revenue for development and enhance service delivery to residents across the local government area.
Earlier, the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, Cyril Emenike Woji, said the amendment followed a formal request by the council chairman and was unanimously approved by members of the House.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Leader of the Assembly, Samuel Oboni, councillors, the Vice Chairman, Ethel Ginika, and other senior officials of the council.
