Police service commission official arraigned for alleged mismanagement of N11.7m fraud.

IBE is facing a seven-count charge brought against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.

 

According to the ICPC, the PSC Director fraudulently paid eleven point seven million naira to some selected staff of the commission in March 2015, as airfare and airport taxi allowances for official duties to areas where there were no flight operations.

 

The Prosecution counsel, GOLDEN IWUAGWU, also told the court that the accused person allegedly facilitated the payment of the money to the said staff to travel from Abuja to Bauchi, Niger, Benue, Kaduna, Kogi, Nassarawa and within the FCT.

 

He said the action contravened Section 19 of the ICPC Act, but EMMANUEL IBE pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail by Justice C.N. OJI of the Abuja High Court in the sum of ten million naira.

 

He was also asked to provide two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a Director in the Public Service of the Federation.
