Here in Port Harcourt Zone, members of the association who did not only protest against oil theft and vandalism, but also engaged in sensitizing members of the public, took off from Isaac Boro Park on ABA road to the headquarters of the Rivers State Police command on Moscow road and office of the NSCDC to register their grievance against activities of oil thieves and pipeline vandals
The Chairman of PENGASSAN, Port Harcourt Zone, Peter Onita complained that, while the government can no longer keep to its social responsibility, companies also find it difficult to pay their workers and the environment is unsafe for inhabitants, due to activities of oil thieves .
Today FM’S Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that Peter Onita while addressing the state commissioner of police, Friday Eboka and his team called on relevant government authorities to urgently intervene to stop the looming crises in the oil industry.
He also warned that as stakeholders in the business, they can no longer fold their hands and watch criminals destroy their land and source of revenue.
