Peace talks have opened in Burundi, in a bid to end months of bloody dispute between the government and the opposition, but reports say there are still divisions.

Peace talks have opened in Burundi, in a bid to end months of bloody dispute between the government and the opposition, but reports say there are still divisions.The negotiations began yesterday in Uganda but reports say a senior member of the government delegation almost immediately threatened to pull out if participants in the recent failed coup against President PIERRE NJURUNZIZZA were allowed to participate.Crisis broke out in Burundi in April when President NKURUNZIZA announced his intention to seek a third term in office.The United Nations estimates that some four hundred people have been killed in the clashes, while more than two hundred and twenty thousand others have fled Burundi since April.
