The Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government, Okechukwu Nwaogu Akara, has pledged to run an all-inclusive administration built on sincerity, transparency, and dedication to the people.
He made the commitment during the inauguration of Vice Deputy Chairman Juliana Ngozi Okorie and newly elected councilors, urging them to see their roles as a call to serve humanity rather than an avenue for personal gain.
Akara also charged the council members to work in unity, uphold the rule of law, and always prioritize the interests of their constituents.
In the meantime, he announced the dissolution of the Local Government Legislative Council and directed all former members to hand over government property in their possession to the Heads of Local Government Administration.
At a brief handover ceremony, the immediate past Administrator of Oyigbo, Eletuo Sampson Iheanacho, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
Our correspondent reports that Felix Nwaogu was elected Leader of the Oyigbo 8th Legislative Assembly, with Nwogu Ihejika Bright as Deputy Leader and Okere Kenneth as Chief Whip.
