The Commander-General of the Organized Security Peace and Advisory Committee (OSPAC), Emeka Onyeocha, has assured residents of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) of their safety following the killing of four persons, including an OSPAC operative, in Omoku.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Today FM, Onyeocha said OSPAC is collaborating with relevant security agencies to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those responsible for the attack.
He warned criminal elements to stay away from ONELGA, stressing that security operations across the local government area would be intensified, especially as political activities gather momentum ahead of the election season.
Onyeocha reaffirmed OSPAC’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, assuring residents that proactive measures are being implemented to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
The OSPAC Commander-General also appealed to Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, oil multinational companies operating in the area, and other well-meaning individuals to provide greater support for the security outfit.
According to him, the financial assistance currently received from the ONELGA Local Government Council is inadequate to effectively address the growing security challenges in the area, adding that improved funding and logistics would significantly boost OSPAC’s operational capacity in the fight against crime.
