Operatives of the Department of State Services are reported to have arrested former National Security Adviser, retired Colonel SAMBO DASUKI.This development comes several weeks after the DSS operatives laid siege DASUKI’s residence in Asokoro area of Abuja, as he is under investigation over alleged fraudulent arms purchase deals running into billions of dollars.Online based Cable News quoted an unnamed source saying that DASUKI is currently undergoing interrogation at the DSS headquarters in Abuja. You will recall that DASUKI was first arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja over alleged illegal possession of firearms and money laundering for which he was granted bail on self-recognition.DASUKI thereafter applied for the release of his travel documents to enable him travel overseas for medical check-up, which the court granted but the DSS refused to comply with, insisting that he needed to appear before a panel investigating a separate matter.DASUKI also returned to the court to seek the enforcement of his fundamental human rights, just as the DSS, through the State Prosecutor is asking the court to grant an application revoking the bail of the accused. That matter is billed for hearing on Thursday this week.
