Today Fm’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that the officers stormed the protest ground and arrested the protesters after they blocked the roads with trucks and heavy duty vehicles and prevented vehicular movement in the area.
The action of the protesters had caused heavy gridlock on the road, leaving road users stranded.
We gathered that those who were picked up by the security agents were those involved in the deflation of tyers of the trucks used in blocking the road.
The leaders of the protests, including the Eleme Youth Coordinator, PRINCE OKERE as well as BRIAN GOKPA who is the former Eleme Youth Council President while addressing newsmen at the protest ground threatened to sustain the protest until their demands are addressed.
