Obio/Akpor Chairman Accuses Traditional Leaders of Land Grabbing

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Dr. Gift Worlu, has accused some traditional leaders in the council of masterminding acts of land grabbing.

Speaking at the first joint stakeholders’ engagement, Dr. Worlu warned that anyone found guilty would be exposed and held accountable. He also expressed concern over the rising cases of drug abuse among young people in the LGA, describing it as a growing threat to community development.

Responding on behalf of the traditional rulers, the Eze Oha Mbam of Okwurusi Kingdom, Morgan Amadi, pledged the cooperation and support of the traditional institution to the council.

The stakeholders’ engagement brought together executives and members of community development committees, traditional rulers, youth and opinion leaders, as well as political party stalwarts across Obio/Akpor.
