Senator DINO MELAYE of the APC from Kogi State observed that like the previous budget, figures were inserted into the 2017 appropriation with the intention to fraudulently convert funds to private pockets.
Senator MELAYE noted that sundry items in the budget, ranging from proposed purchases and overheads, give credence to dubious multiple entries.
Senator DINO MELAYE was reacting to claims of inclusion of two billion naira allocation in for a housing project, which the Minister of Power, Works and Housing said he knew nothing about.
MELAYE, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory Administration, said all Nigerians must join hands to put corrupt people in government out of the system.
