Nigerian troops have continued to record gains in the ongoing operations to clear camps, enclaves and dens of Boko Haram terrorists in the north eastern part of our country. The latest gain comes with the terrorists abandoning their locations at Nafari and Gonin Kurmi, as troops move in to secure the areas.
The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel SANI USMAN said the fleeing terrorists abandoned foodstuff and personal items, as they retreated deeper into the Sambisa Forest. In a related development; the Nigerian Air Force has confirmed the crash of an F7-Ni fighter jet that was returning to the base after a mission in Adamawa State. The Director of Public Relations of the Nigerian Air Force, Commodore DELE ALONGE said the aircraft crashed due to bad weather and not from enemy fire. Commodore ALONGE said the jet crashed around Hong, in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa, killing the pilot. He said the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal SB ABUBAKAR has set up an investigation panel to unravel the remote and immediate causers of the accident.
