The Federal Executive has kicked against the decision by the National Judicial Council in recalling six of eight judges who were arrested on suspicion of corruption and placed on suspension.

The Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, OKOI OBONO-OBLA particularly frowned at the recall of Justice ADENIYI ADEMOLA from suspension.

The NJC had in a statement over the weekend announced the lifting of the suspension against Justice ADEMOLA on the grounds that he had been discharged of the criminal charges against him.

But responding to questions during a live television programme monitored in Port Harcourt, OBONO-OBLA said the NJC should have taken into consideration that the case involving Justice ADEMOLA is a subject of appeal.

Following the development; the Presidential adviser called for constitutional reform to include neutral persons from the civil society in the National Judicial Council as a means to enhance public confidence in the judiciary.
