United Nations commission on human rights in South Sudan has warned of impending ethnic cleansing in several parts of the conflict-ridden country.

The Commission is also reporting that gang rape has become so prevalent in South Sudan that it has become the norm.

The report is based on the observations by the three members of the commission after spending ten days travelling around South Sudan.

The commission uncovered forced starvation, burning of villages and numerous accounts of corpses being found along main roads.

The report was presented by the commission's chair, YASMIN SOOKA, which called on the international community to act quickly to prevent a repeat of the Rwandan genocide.
