The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has urged youths in the region to look beyond crude oil and embrace Artificial Intelligence as a new frontier for wealth creation, employment and innovation.
The call was made as the Commission, through its Department of Information Technology and Innovation, commenced a four-day AI training and capacity-building programme aimed at equipping Niger Delta youths with digital skills for entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.
Declaring the programme open, NDDC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Ogbuku, represented by his Chief of Staff, Obegha Oworibo, said the initiative seeks to transform youths from job seekers into opportunity creators. The Director of Information Technology and Innovation, Engineer Emeka Ani, described the programme as a strategic investment, while beneficiaries commended the NDDC and pledged to put the skills acquired to good use.
