The Chairman of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Idris Olorunnimbe, has pledged to seek presidential incentives for investors willing to establish smartphone manufacturing factories in Nigeria.
Olorunnimbe said the proposed incentives are aimed at encouraging local production, attracting investment into the technology sector, and reducing the country’s dependence on imported smartphones.
He expressed confidence that increased local manufacturing would create jobs, boost technology transfer, and strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.
