Benue Police Launch Investigation into Killing of Miyetti Allah Chairman, Another Victim

The Benue State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the killing of the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Risku Mohammed, and another man, Yakubu Isa, by suspected gunmen.

The State Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, said the victims were ambushed and killed while returning from a security meeting along the Okwudu-Ogoli Road in Otukpo Local Government Area.

In a statement issued through the command’s spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, the police commissioner condemned the attack, describing it as a senseless act aimed at undermining ongoing peace and security efforts in the state.

Nwadiogbu extended condolences to the families of the victims and assured residents that tactical and intelligence teams have been deployed to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible for the killings.
