One of the suspected militant leaders was identified UDUAK ETIM THOMPSON who goes by the alias SANGATA.
According to a statement released by the Director of Information of the Nigerian Navy, Commodore CHRISTIAN EZEKOBE said SANGATA was arrested on Monday at his hideout in Calabar.
The naval spokesman said the operation was carried out by a joint team from Nigerian Navy Ship VICTORY and the Defence Intelligence Agency.
He also confirmed the arrest of four suspected pirates over attacks and robbery operations at Oyorokoro, Ataba and Kaa communities in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
