NCAA Suspends Pilots, Grounds Aircraft Over Asaba Road-Landing Incident

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the pilots and grounded the aircraft involved in the recent incident in which a jet landed on a road near the Asaba Airport in Delta State.

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of the NCAA, Michael Achimugu, disclosed this in a statement, saying the regulatory authority has commenced a full investigation into the incident.

According to the NCAA, the suspension of the flight crew and the grounding of the aircraft are precautionary measures pending the outcome of the investigation.

The authority said it is working closely with relevant aviation agencies to determine the circumstances that led to the incident and to ensure strict compliance with aviation safety regulations.

The NCAA reassured the public of its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards in Nigeria’s aviation sector, adding that appropriate regulatory actions would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
