On resumption; the Nigerian Senate is expected to focus attention on the passage of the 2017 Appropriation Bill.
This was made known by the Senate’s spokesman, Senator SABI ABDULLAHI, who also promised that the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly would live up to its constitutional responsibility in turning out an implementable budget.
Senator SABI also assured that the Senate would continue from where it stopped before the end-of-year break, in terms of speedy consideration of legislations and oversight duties.
It is also the expectation of the Nigerian Senate to avoid any action that could incite a controversy and derail speedy consideration of the budget.
Correspondent JAMES IGAH recalls that President MUHAMMADU BUHARI had on 14th December last year, presented a draft appropriation bill of seven point three trillion to a joint session of the National Assembly.
