Acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Professor Kemebra-Dikumo Pondei expressed the complain while speaking with newsmen in reaction to the allegations of corruption against the the Interim Management Committee.
Professor Pondei said 50% of the inability of the NDDC to achieve its mandate is as a result of unrelenting influence of the Committees in the national Assembly who are bent on manipulating the affairs of the commission.
He revealed that the IMC is under pressure from the National Assembly committee on NDDC to release N6.4bn for the payment of a 132 phantom contracts.
The acting MD of NDDC also alleged that the work of the Interim Management Committee has been frustrated over its refusal to consent to the activities of the National Assembly committee under Senator Peter Nwaoboshi PETER NWAOBOSHI from Delta Olubumi Tunji-Ojo from Ondo state, who also illegally inserted 500 unknown contracts to the 2019 budget to the NDDC in what he called a classic case of budget padding.
Professor Pondei however denied allegations of fraud alleged against the Interim committee.
