MOSOP Demands Implementation of Eleme-Okrika Boundary Judgment

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has criticized the Rivers State Government for failing to implement a 1957 Supreme Court judgment demarcating the boundary between the Eleme and Okrika clans.

MOSOP President, Andah Wai-Ogosu, raised the issue while reacting to recent cases of land grabbing in Eleme and lingering boundary disputes with neighboring Okrika communities.

He also faulted successive state governments for failing to implement the recommendations of the Justice Charles Granville Commission of Inquiry Report.

Wai-Ogosu further criticized lawmakers representing Eleme Constituency at both the State and National Assemblies, accusing them of neglecting the boundary issue and placing political interests above the welfare of the people.
