Lecturer Advocates Collaboration for Effective Waste Management in Rivers

A lecturer at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Dr. Anochi Clifford, has called for stronger collaboration between the Rivers State Government and residents to achieve effective waste management and a cleaner environment.

Dr. Clifford said government agencies must enforce environmental regulations while residents take responsibility for proper waste disposal. He also urged the Rivers State Waste Management Agency to establish waste collection points across communities to improve waste handling.

The environmental scientist warned that poor waste disposal contributes to pollution, health risks, and environmental degradation. He further advocated the adoption of waste-to-wealth initiatives as a sustainable approach to waste management.
