Kogi/BayelsaDecide2019: We will depend on our officials to take decision on violent areas-INEC

The INEC National Commissioner in charge of Voters Education, FESTUS OKOYE who was reacting to reports of violent attacks in the both states said it will be wrong to base their action on the report from social media or stakeholders.

OKOYE said although the electoral umpire may not be one hundred percent in the conduct of the election, insisted that all materials including the deployment of adequate security personnel to achieve free and fair election were made available by INEC.

OKOYE while blaming the political stakeholder in the wave of violent recorded in the elections said INEC will not fail to re-conduct elections in areas where elections were disrupted.

Reacting to the delay in arrival of electoral materials in some local government and polling units, OKOYE said may have been caused by the absence of the security operatives to escort the materials.
