In more reactions trailing the procession by APC members in Rivers state; Abuja-based Partners for Electoral Reforms has endorsed the event.The Chairman of the civil society organization, EZENWA NWAOGU told correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA that the Black Day procession would help to discourage electoral violence in any part of the country. NWAOGU said the process of peaceful election should not be subverted by violence, stressing that it was high time that the Independent National Electoral Commission started to punish electoral offenders. Similarly; a Port Harcourt-based legal practitioner, OSI OLISAH said the mourning procession by APC members was the right thing to do. The lawyer however said it was wrong for politicians to use the occasion to arm-twist the Federal government to implement the report of the Commission of Enquiry on election violence in Rivers State.
Correspondent Victor Ezeama reports that the respondents also commended security operatives for ensuring that there was no breach of public peace during the Black Day programme in Port Harcourt.
