The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has deployed a specialised team from the Force Intelligence Directorate to Eruku in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State to investigate the recent attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) and track down those responsible.
The intelligence team, mandated to gather and analyse critical information to support ongoing police operations, arrived in the community on Tuesday afternoon. Led by a senior intelligence officer, Ibo Sam, the operatives commenced an on-the-ground assessment of the affected locations.
Pastor Abiodun Bamidele of the CAC conducted the team around the attacked areas, providing firsthand accounts and helping officers understand the sequence of events that unfolded during the incident.
The deployment is part of broader efforts by the police leadership to restore calm, reassure residents, and ensure that the perpetrators of the violent attack are identified and brought to justice.
