Former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, was arrested on Wednesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, shortly after arriving from Enugu aboard a chartered flight.
Airport sources said the former minister was taken into custody and is expected to be handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for interrogation over allegations of certificate forgery.
The arrest follows an earlier order by a Federal High Court in Abuja authorising the ICPC to arrest and investigate Nnaji after he allegedly failed to honour several invitations by the anti-graft agency.
The ICPC has been investigating the former minister over allegations that he forged academic credentials submitted during his ministerial appointment process.
