Former governor of Rivers state, ROTIMI AMAECHI, has expressed gratitude to God for the Tribunal’s judgement, which nullified the election of Governor NYESOM WIKE. Speaking at an event to mark the 8th anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling that installed him as governor of Rivers State in 2007, AMAECHI urged Rivers People to build their hope on praise and worship to God.
He also attributed the ruling of the Rivers state Governorship election tribunal which nullified Governor NYESOME WIKE to God. On his part, the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers DAKUKU PETERSIDE said the ruling of the tribunal has shown that no one can assume power by forceful means. PETERSIDE said he was hopeful that the party will win the rerun election ordered by the tribunal. He called on members of the party to be peaceful and continue to conduct themselves decently. Correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA reports that former governor AMAECHI called on APC supporters to prepare for elections in case the outcome of PDP appeal favours them.
