The fire incident according to a source started around 2pm and razed some buildings in the camp.
The source claimed that the fire was caused by some persons in the area after a report emerged that the Federal Government has approved NYSC Camps and some stadia in Nigeria as isolation centers for Covid-19 patients.
The source noted that when the information filtered into the community, some youths invaded the camp and set it ablaze to stop the government from using it.
When our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR contacted the State Coordinator of NYSC, CHINWENDU CHUKWU, he declined from speaking on the incident.
However; a senior NYSC officer had earlier confirmed the development but begged not to be quoted.
