Finance Minister Wale Edun has assured that there are no immediate plans to implement the proposed 5 per cent tax on petroleum products.
Speaking to reporters in Abuja, Edun explained that while the levy is part of the new tax administration scheduled to begin on January 1, 2026, its enforcement will only follow due process.
His clarification comes amid rising public concern over the possibility of the fuel tax being introduced soon.
