FG extends fight against corruption to financial sector.

Professor OSINBAJO threatened that those who engage in such scam must be criminalized and held accountable for their action.

OSINABJO gave this indication at opening of a three-day Conference on Promoting International Cooperation in Combating Illicit Financial Flows and Enhancing Assets Recovery for Sustainable Development.

Addressing an audience at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Professor OSINBAJO said banks and other financial institution must be made to face the consequence of engaging in sharp practices that undermine the economy.

The Acting President noted that huge looting of public funds has been responsible for Nigeria’s dwindling development; a trend he said has to come to an end.

He further disclosed that the war against corruption has been reduced to a media exchange between those in support of fighting corruption and others who are behind the stolen funds.

The conference was put together by the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, headed by law scholar, Professor ITSE SAGAY.
