Election is underway in Iran, as the people vote members of a new parliament and what is known as Assembly of Experts, which comprises of clerics, from where the Supreme Leader is appointed.The BBC reports that Iranian reformists are hoping to increase their influence in both institutions, which have been dominated by conservatives.The election is the first since Iran struck a deal with world powers over its nuclear programme and the lifting of sanctions.
